Cookie Notice

This notice covers cookies and similar browser storage used by Hall Bible Commentary. Cookies are small values stored by your browser; local storage and offline caches are related technologies with different functions.

Administrator sign-in

Supabase authentication cookies keep the authorized administrator signed in and support session renewal. Their names usually begin with “sb-” and include the project identifier. They are set during sign-in and may be refreshed while the account is used. Signing out ends the active session; clearing site data removes locally stored cookies. Blocking these cookies can prevent the writing desk from working.

Reading disclaimer preference

After you dismiss the reading disclaimer, the site stores “hall-disclaimer-v1” in your browser’s local storage. It records only that the notice has been dismissed; it is not an advertising identifier and is not sent to the server. It remains until you clear site data or a revised notice uses a new version. You can reopen the notice using “Reading disclaimer” in the footer.

Offline reading

The installable web app uses a service worker and a cache named “hall-reader-v1” to store its offline screen, app files, and successfully visited homepage and Bible pages. Administrator pages, sign-in pages, and API responses are excluded from this offline cache. Cached pages can remain until the browser evicts them, you clear site data, or a future app version replaces the cache.

Advertising, analytics, and external media

The site does not currently add advertising cookies or audience analytics scripts. Vercel and Supabase may process operational information needed to deliver and protect their services. Third-party video, audio, images, or websites can use their own cookies or storage when loaded or visited. Their notices and browser controls apply to those services.

Dismissing the reading disclaimer acknowledges the reading notice only; it does not grant consent to optional advertising or tracking. If optional tracking is introduced, this notice and the necessary controls should be updated before it is enabled.

Your controls

Use your browser’s privacy or website-data settings to inspect, block, or delete cookies and stored data for this site. Clearing storage may sign you out, remove offline pages, and make the disclaimer appear again. Private browsing and storage restrictions may also affect these features. To revisit the reading notice without clearing anything, choose “Reading disclaimer” in the footer.
